USB Port not working on my Laptop - jnmauto - 10-28-2016
My USB port has suddenly stopped working on my laptop and i cant figure out why. It is unable to recognize my phone at all. When I plug in the phone, i dont get the option to turn on Mass storage but the phone starts charging. I have tried using a different USB cable but the problem still persists. Could it be that the port is damaged or it is just a software issue?

The problem could be just a software issue. It could have come up as a result of pluging in and out of the USB cable in quick succession. This causes the port to stop working. Microsoft has a few fix solutions for this situation. Find out here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/817900
I am assuming your laptop is running Windows Operating system.
